Eastern National Offers Several Exclusives at Philadelphia Flower Show
The 2016 Philadelphia Flower Show, “Explore America,” celebrates the National Park Service Centennial and our country’s majestic landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture, March 5 – 13, 2016 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Guests will have the opportunity to view exhibits that exemplify the natural beauty, history, and culture of the sites maintained by the National Park Service. This year’s show features competition displays showcasing Eastern National’s partner parks, including Independence NHP, Acadia NP, Cape Cod NS, Lincoln Boyhood N MEM, Hopewell Furnace NHS, Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP, National Mall and Memorial Parks, Congaree NP, Weir Farm NHS, and Delaware Water Gap NRA, among other NPS sites.
Available only at the Flower Show are an exclusive Passport To Your National Parks® Philadelphia Flower Show Cancellation and commemorative stamp as well as handcrafted Jamestown Glass “Explore America 2016” Flower Show ornaments. Visitors can get the 2016 Centennial Passport at the Flower Show or bring their Passport and collect the commemorative stamp and cancellation.
New Happy Birthday to America’s National Parks Book Released
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, Eastern National has released a new publication: Happy Birthday to America’s National Parks. This intriguing and delightful booklet is aimed at young people ages 10 and above, including anyone with an interest in learning about our wonderful national parks. Included are 100 fascinating facts about the parks. Packed with colorful illustrations and photographs, the booklet offers an enlightening trip through our national parks and highlights the dedicated people who work there.
New Jamestown Glasshouse NPS Centennial Pieces Offered
The Jamestown Glasshouse has crafted limited-edition items celebrating the NPS Centennial, including a green glass ranger hat (shown) as well as paperweights and ornaments in teal, cobalt blue, and green. These one-of-a-kind pieces of handblown glass were crafted in Historic Jamestowne, Virginia, the site of the first successful permanent English settlement in North America.
New America’s National Parks Press Titles Published
Eastern National has produced three new titles under the America’s National Parks Press imprint. There are currently nine titles available in the series with the latest being Documents of Freedom; Washington, D.C., Our Nation’s Capital; and The American
Revolution.
The books are printed and distributed nationwide by Kappa Books Publishers. This series of books, which is sold at dollar stores and other mass retailers, is designed to reach an audience that may not normally visit national parks.
