EN Launches Philanthropic Branch
June 2018
Earlier this month, Eastern National launched a new philanthropic branch. This milestone event marks a significant change in the way we support our park partners. Since our founding in 1947, we have been a traditional cooperating association, operating educational retail outlets. Over the past 70 years, we have provided more than $149 million in direct and in-kind aid to parks. By creating a philanthropic branch of our organization, we are expanding the reach of support we can provide to our park partners.
Two key steps happened as part of this launch:
We signed a philanthropic partnership agreement with the National Park Service, giving Eastern National the authority to be an official fundraising partner at the Outer Banks Group: Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Wright Brothers National Memorial, and Fort Raleigh National Historic Site. This group will be known as Outer Banks Forever.
To help get this new program successfully off the ground, we’ve begun the search for a Director to lead the development of Outer Banks Forever. A key member of Eastern National’s leadership team, the Director will work to develop a branch that will support three of the most beloved and visited national parks on the Eastern Seaboard. “These are significant steps in reaching our long-term fundraising goals. I am excited about the potential and grateful to all who have supported this project to date. We hope that Outer Banks Forever will serve as a model for similar partnerships at other locations in the future.” – Kevin Kissling, President and CEO
We’re excited to launch this new branch and to keep our park partners updated as we build out this new business model for our organization!
