In early September, the Eastern National team opened an America’s National Parks™ store at the brand new Gateway Visitor Center at Acadia National Park! The building is a warm-toned, lodge-like open space with skylights and large wooden beams. This makes for the perfect mountain shopping experience.

Eastern National was allotted a corner of the building that was already outfitted with slatwall and shelving built in, funded by MaineDOT, NPS, and Friends of Acadia. Eastern National completed the space with custom floor fixtures and apparel racks. The lighter wood finish really popped and allowed our colorful products to stand out.

We’ve included some detailed merchandising photos to show how our diverse product collections can be brought together in a visually appealing display. Related themes were compiled for a well-rounded story, for example, hiking books merchandised with hiking keychains, pins, etc.  What else do you need to hike? Bug spray or a sardine survival kit, maybe? Good thing they’re all together to remind people that they may need more than just a book to take on Acadia’s trails! A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing store opening on such a tight schedule.
