Cathy Nagle-Ervin Elected to Museum Store Association Board

Eastern National’s Great Lakes Regional Manager Cathy Nagle-Ervin has been elected to serve as secretary on the Museum Store Association (MSA) Board of Directors. Her 2018 – 2019 term will commence at the MSA Forward Conference, which will take place in Washington, DC in late April.

During her twelve years of involvement with MSA, Cathy has shared her experience managing multiple Eastern National stores to help offer her colleagues a broader view of retail operations. After presenting at the MSA National Conference in 2015, she was asked to join the organization’s Educational Advisory Committee. This opportunity allowed Cathy to help shape the educational priorities of MSA through content planning and web based trainings, many of which she has taught or moderated.

In her new position, Cathy hopes to revamp MSA’s Professional Education Certificate Program this year. She reports that “most MSA stores are a single operation, and their staff really do not have the opportunity to travel to see other retail operations,” making her background in training and education an excellent match for the organization.

Cathy joined Eastern National in May 2000. In addition to her work as regional manager for EN’s Great Lakes Region, she has used her training in digital film making to help develop resources for the entire organization. She was recognized with Eastern National’s Distinguished Service Award in 2009 for her work creating the EN Selling & Service video series, which are still in use nearly a decade later. Cathy also uses her film making experience outside of her duties at Eastern National, and several of her shots have been utilized by the Travel Channel for their original programs.
